Ryan J. Dykmans, CFA, is the President and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Dunham & Associates Investment Counsel, Inc., where he oversees the firm’s investment, business, and strategic operations. In his dual role, Ryan leads the Analyst team and Investment Committee while also guiding sales and marketing, operations, client service, human resources, finance, and compliance departments.

Since joining Dunham in 2004 as an intern, Ryan has advanced through nearly every role of the business, including serving as Director of Research before becoming CIO in 2022 and President in 2025. Over his 22-year tenure, he has been instrumental in building Dunham’s investment platform - overseeing the firm’s 15 proprietary mutual funds, leading asset allocation design, sub-adviser oversight, and creating DunhamDC, the firm’s proprietary investment overlay.

Ryan is widely recognized for his investment insight, with live interviews featured in The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, BBC News, Schwab Network, Yahoo Finance, and other outlets. He is a frequent resource for financial professionals, providing perspectives on economic trends, financial markets, and investment strategies.

A graduate of the University of Redlands with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Ryan also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is an active member of the CFA Society San Diego and CFA Institute. He maintains FINRA Series 7, 24, and 66 registrations.

Based in San Diego, Ryan lives with his wife Nichole and their three children. Outside of work, he is an avid soccer player, longtime youth coach, and active community volunteer.
